Listen to my Pictures is a non-profit organization dedicated to enabling children to tell the stories of their lives through the photographs they capture.

Our mission is to bring a voice to underrepresented children so that they can tell the stories of their own lives through the pictures they capture.

By listening to the pictures captured by these children and
refusing to impose our story on their lives, we come closer to understanding the millions of young people around the world who live on the fringe of society.

  Bigogwe   Bigogwe, Rwanda
The 2009 Bigogwe LtmP project took place at the Trinity School, a primary school in the small village of Bigogwe in Western Rwanda. Eight students, from ages 12 to 16, met every other day for class instruction and photography expeditions into the local community. Their photographs and autobiographies express both the beauty and hardship of life in a region severely affected by the 1994 genocide and the 2007 floods.

The Gulu Listen to my Pictures program is the product of the Kampala program. The children meet weekly to go over their photographs and to learn new lessons. The Gulu program also challenges its students by testing them on the photography lessons they have learned.
