I am 12 years old. My parents moved here because of the war in Congo, and my mother gave birth to me just after reaching Bigogwe. My name, Zaninka, means “bring many cows”, because my family hopes that when I get married, we will receive many cows as a dowry. I have three brothers and 2 sisters; I am the lastborn of my family.
My home was destroyed by the floods in 2007, so we had to move. I like English because I am able to understand it. When I grow up, I want to be a minister in the government because I want to be a good leader. I want to provide for the people of the country. Studying photography has changed my life. I never knew anything about photography, but now I do. Now when people see my pictures, they will be able to see where I live.
