I am 15 years old. My family is from the Congo, but we fled to Bigogwe because of the war. I was 4 years old when we came here. I live with my parents and four brothers. After the floods, we were unable to pay our rent and we were evicted from our home. My parents are farmers. We grow peas, and we also have cows and goats.
When I was younger, I was very sick. The sickness made me dizzy, and I fell and broke my skull. Now, I get headaches and it is often hard for me to concentrate in class. Even when I am not feeling well, I am very happy to be in school because many girls do not have that opportunity. I want to become an English teacher when I grow up, because I like English so much. When I’m not at school, I like to visit my friends.
