Maria, “Lupita” is 11 years old and lives with her parents and her 4 brothers. Their parents work selling potato chips in different parts of the city. Both she and her brothers help sell potatoes occasionally during the week and more regularly on weekends.
Her house is on the outskirts of the city and to move from that point to the school makes a bus journey in about an hour. She is currently completing sixth grade.
She would like to become a doctor to help her family when someone gets sick.
